This is the gallery for my chicken cartoons. I decided to separate them from my main gallery at *XiaoGui for various reasons. Firstly, because they are numerous and I didn't want to clog my main gallery with chicken sketches. Secondly, because I know that there are people out there who are only interested in my chickens and not in my other artwork. And, finally, because they are especially dear to me and I think they deserve a place of their own. Major pictures (i.e. those with which I am especially satisfied) will be uploaded to my main gallery as well anyway.

:strip: IMPORTANT NOTICE: Since it's now possible for subscribers to put "categories" in ones gallery, I'm going to stop double-uploading (i.e. here and into my main gallery) of "vintage pictures". From now on those can be found in my main gallery only, in the "chickens"-category. "Minor" pics will still be uploaded here, though.

:bulletblue: Why chickens?!

Because I love chickens. They are cute, funny, and they have a kind of bizarre quality. I like bizarre. :D

:bulletblue: How long have you been drawing chickens?

Since almost 20 years.

:bulletblue: Why are there so many family-related pictures in your gallery?

Because my wonderful family gives me the greatest inspiration, and without their constant encouragement I wouldn't have drawn so many chickens over the years. They like my chickens and I like it that they like them, and that's (almost) all that matters to me. :)

:bulletblue: What media do you use?

Mechanical pencil for the sketches, fineliner for the quicker cartoons and Rotring Rapidograph for all fine-tuned work.

:bulletblue: Do you draw anything else than chickens?

As cartoons, not really. Occasionally some ducks but that's about it. I tried to skip to penguins once but it wasn't really satisfying. Chickens are the funniest, after all. ;)
All non-cartoony art is in my main gallery.

:bulletblue: Do you take requests/commissions?

When I have time and like the subject, sure! Just send me a note or email. :)
